Historic brick and stone masonry restoration and repair have unique qualities. It is softer and requires different techniques and materials than modern masonry. Untrained masons can cause irreversible damage to your historic masonry. I perform foundation/basement repointing and stone/brick repairs, but not entire houses.

Masonry repair and rebuilding of stone and brick includes:

• Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL) Repointing
  We can closely match your existing NHL mortar in color, aggregate, etc.  We rake the old mortar from the masonry joints and fill it with new, matched NHL mortar and finish it with a matching joint profile.

• Historic Stone Repair
  Trained in lime-based stone repair.  We can repair erosion or other damage to your sandstone foundation stones, limestone, bricks, or other masonry, and closely match color, texture and profile.

• Brick Repair / Brick Restoration
  We repair or replace spalled or missing bricks. We closely match the brick and use historic lime mortar.

• Efflorescence on Masonry
  If you have a white powdery deposit on your brick or stone foundation, we can properly address the situation.
